Marilyn Herzik paints Realism to Surrealism.
Master of Reiki III Degree Usui method - “The Art of Healing Hands” and a resident of Rockport. Her medium of choice is oil painting, watercolors and sculpture. Using the eyes finding expression, concentrating on form, temperature and color. She paints with a sense of urgency and passion to capture the essence of the subject. As a child she made a silent oath to pursue the Arts by using her skills and artistic sensibility to do what she loves.
After many years working as an Illustrator in San Antonio she decided to paint freelance and paint Fine Art. Her favorite subjects are Birds, Wildlife and Humans.
After living in Central America (San Ignacio, Belize) on the edge of the Rain Forest and Mayan Ruins, she became aware of man’s encroachment on our wildlife and natural resources. Through her art she portrays endangered species and fragile environment. Art can be a powerful thing. An image can evoke a thought, reason and pleasure. |
